Wonderware was part of Invensys plc, in January 2014, Schneider Electric acquired Invensys PLC, the owner of the Wonderware software brand and many others, to form a new software business unit. AVEVA and Schneider Electric’s software business merged in 2018 under the AVEVA name, with a combined set of software solutions. In 2021, AVEVA acquired OSIsoft combining world-class data management together with AVEVA’s leading industrial software. CTI Resources first partnered with Control Instrumentation Pty Ltd, Australia, which was later renamed to be Citect Pty Ltd, to be their exclusive Citect Distributor in Malaysia back in 1993. This was also when the first-ever Window Based SCADA system launched in the market with the first Citect project in IWK Damansara Sewerage Treatment Plant Control System using Omron PLC. In 2008, Schneider Electric bought over Citect Pty Ltd. After ten years, in 2018, Schneider Electric announced the merging of Schneider Electric’s industrial software business with AVEVA. The combination brings together AVEVA’s design, engineering and construction capabilities with Schneider Electric’s industrial software business, which ranges from simulation through to real-time manufacturing operations management.
